F.A.Q
Frequently
Asked
Questions
Veil Craft Studio is a one woman circus & while I try my best to respond to everyone's questions, it is almost impossible for me to keep up with it all... So, I have put together a list of the questions that are asked most frequently, in hopes that this will help you.
➣ How can I contact you?
{ connect@veilcraft.studio } ↤ Drop me an email with general support questions, custom purchase inquiries as well as feedback and experience testimonials. Do you want something, but in a different color? Are you an artist yourself and want to collaborate on a creation?! Do you like my style and want a fully customized and one-of-a-kind piece of art? Please contact me! I enjoy collaborating with other great minds and creatives!!
**☆ I also really love watching unboxing videos, they make me giddy beyond belief, as well as seeing how others choose to display their pieces! So, please tag the umbra house in your social media posts or send in all the pictures/videos and tell me how your experience was! I rely on your input and feedback as it helps me grow as an artist and is greatly appreciated! 🖤
➣ Booking & Deposit Policy
To honor both your time and mine, all services require a deposit at the time of booking.
**☆ Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is applied toward your total service cost—it is not an additional fee.
Deposits ensure that your time is reserved exclusively for you, and they allow me to prepare, plan, and hold space for our work together with intention and care.
**☆ Cancellations & Rescheduling
Life happens—I understand that. If you need to reschedule, you may do so once with at least 24–48 hours’ notice, and your deposit will transfer to your new appointment time.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
Q: Can I return my order?
A: Each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind, crafted with care and intention. Because of this, returns aren’t accepted. Every parcel leaves my studio carefully prepared to arrive safely and whole.
Q: What if my parcel arrives damaged?
A: All parcels are fully insured. If your piece is damaged in transit, please reach out within 48 hours with photos. I will ensure it is tended to and replaced if needed.
Q: Can I cancel my order?
A: Pre-made or Harvested pieces cannot be canceled once ordered. Custom pieces are considered on a case-by-case basis—contact me as soon as possible to discuss any changes.
**☆ Exceptions
In cases of true emergencies, exceptions may be made at my discretion. My goal is to balance compassion with sustainability, so I can continue to show up fully for all of my clients.
**☆
Thank you for respecting these boundaries and valuing the space we create together.
➣ Order Care / Aftercare
Q: How should I care for my glass art?
A: Handle your glass art with care. No matter how strong it looks, it is still fragile and can break.
For regular cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth. If deeper cleaning is needed, use a non-ammonia glass cleaner applied to a cloth—never directly onto the glass.
Avoid abrasive materials, as they can scratch or remove the patina and finishes. Do not use vinegar, ammonia (like Windex), or acid-based cleaners, as they can damage the solder and structure of your piece.
Q: Will my stained glass change over time?
A: Yes—this is a natural part of stained glass. The metals and finishes will oxidize over time, even with proper care.
Each piece is waxed and polished to slow this process, but it will still occur. Some people love this aged look, while others prefer to maintain a polished finish.
To restore shine, you can use Carnauba wax or Renaissance Wax every 3–4 months.
Q: How should I hang my glass art?
A: Glass art can be heavy—always test your hanging method first using a similar weight.
Do not use suction cups — they will fail
Use a secure screw hook installed into something solid
Anchors may be needed depending on your intended hanging surface.
Command hooks can be used for windows, but:
Always check the weight rating
Follow installation instructions carefully
Check them regularly
Replace command strips during the changing of the seasons, if needed.
**☆ If you’re unsure, reach out before hanging—I’m happy to help.
Q: Who is responsible for improper installation?
A: Veil Craft Studio is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation.
➣ Shipping & Delivery
Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
A: Each piece is handmade with care, so please allow 7–14 days for shipping. Once it’s on its way, you’ll receive a tracking number to watch your treasure’s journey.
Q: Which carrier delivers my order?
A: Most orders travel via UPS, FedEx, or USPS, fully insured to ensure your parcel arrives safely.
Q: Can I track my order?
A: Absolutely! You’ll get a tracking link as soon as your parcel is on its way. Keep an eye on it—your piece is traveling safely to you.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: At this time, we only ship within the United States.
➣ Materials / Safety
Q: Are your pieces safe to handle?
A: Yes! All glass is carefully crafted, but please remember it is fragile. Handle with care to avoid injury or breakage.
Q: Do your pieces contain lead?
A: Some pieces contain traditional leaded solder, which is sealed and safe to display. I always take care to prevent direct contact, but please wash your hands after handling, especially if children are involved.
Q: Can I display my piece outdoors?
A: While some pieces can be displayed outdoors temporarily, most are intended for indoor use. Weather, sunlight, and moisture can affect the glass, solder, and finishes over time.
Q: Any other safety tips?
A: Avoid using harsh chemicals on the glass or metal. Always ensure pieces are securely hung or displayed, and never leave them where pets or small children could reach.
